A Buinicky is Born!
|
On Thursday at about 1pm, I got a call on my cell phone. I looked to see who it was, and saw that it was Jason. I figured it had something to do with HeroClix Night, which we have at our house every Thursday, so I let it go to voicemail since I was at work. Then I checked the message:
Jason–"Hi, it's Jason! Um... we were planning on coming over tonight for gaming, but, uh... something happened and we had a baby!"
|
Needless to say, I called right back, since Jenna wasn't supposed to be due until January 31st!
Apparently, they had gone in for an ultrasound at about noon and Jenna's blood pressure was really high, so they sent her to the hospital and did a C-section, and Emily Langdon Buinicky was born! She weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces, and is 19.25 inches long.
|
Unfortunately, Emily's blood pressure was still really high, so an ambulance from Maine Medical was sent out to pick up Emily. While it was on its way, Jenna went in to see the baby, and suddenly Emily's blood pressure dropped down to normal! But they decided to send Em up to Maine Medical anyway, just as a precaution.
Jason was totally exhausted at that point from having such a long and unexpectedly eventful day, but he traveled to Maine Medical with Emily, while Jenna recuperated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
|
Jason returned to Portsmouth late last night, and he and Jenna spent most of today anxiously awaiting Emily's return.
Randy and I arrived at the hospital when we got out of work at about 5:30pm, not long before the ambulance from Maine Medical arrived.
Emily is healthy and happy and totally adorable! We all took turns visiting with her since she's still on an IV, but she is eating like a true Buinicky and they expect she'll be able to go home soon!
CONGRATULATIONS JENNA AND JASON! :)
